We have snow today, but we use the Macan with snow tires and let the Mini hibernate. So I can wait for spring or bite the bullet and purchase now.

I've been on some Conti True Contacts for a couple of months now and they're great! Wet performance is amazing, noise is low, dry performance, though not as good as say a fresh set of Pilot Super Sports, is excellent for an all-season tire.

I put a set of Conti DWS 06 tires on my GTI. Great tires low noise & the wet weather performance is great. Also a good tire in the dry for spirited driving. I don't drive them in the snow, but my guess would be they'd be just OK. When it snows I take my wife's MINI that wears real snow tires.
As far as wear mine are wearing well. I rotate them every 5,000 miles. If you don't rotate & keep proper air pressure any tire will get loud.
Hope this helps.....-

If there is a Discount Tire or America's Tire near you buy from them. Since you are waiting until spring those store usually have a pretty good sales then. I saved over $200 when I bought mine.
One thing about summer tires, they are great, but if you drive in cold weather they turn hard like hockey pucks & won't stick well at all. For the right conditions they are the bomb.-

A little late here, but I've had several test of Conti's. Love the DW tires. I believe the replacements for that model are now the Extreme Contact Sport. Th boy child had the DWS on the JCW Roadster we now have. They probably have 30k miles on them and they're still decent though a bit noisy. Will probably put the Sports back on them if I don't go with the Firestone Indy 500 Firehawks.

That is one thing the kid didn't do to his DWS tires. Rotating them is damn near mandatory to keep them from cupping and getting loud! Mine go front to rear every 5k miles religiously.

Over the years I have had about 4 sets of Contis' on my MINIs, I like the quiet, wet traction and longevity, I managed some track days on mine, which took a few miles off them, but I can get in the 30K range easy. If you buy from Discount or Americans Tire, they will prorate cost into your next set, which is always nice.
At least in Colorado Discount gives me a tire allowance, even though they know I like track time. -

Conti’s are great tires and you should have no issues with them.

I used to like Discount but I have had bad experiences with them in Idaho and Arizona. Both wanted to sell me new tires when the punctured tire was repairable. So now I use the little guys who didn't give it a second thought to repair. The Arizona discount even stripped the threads when putting the lug nuts back on when I refused to purchase a new tire. And this happened on my Porsche.
That's not to say I won't buy from Discount, but I will consider Costco and the little independent guy as well.-
