This is the bearing that supports the right side axle shaft, it mounts in a housing that bolts to the block and is held in with a circlip.

It's simple enough to change, but you can't buy it. The only way you can get it is to buy the entire right axle assembly - if you buy it from MINI it'll cost you $455. There are aftermarket China-made axles for considerably less but you take your chances with those. My experience with Chinese made parts has not been very good, so I tend to shy away from them, but that's just me.

    Until now!

I contacted the factory that makes the bearing for MINI and have ordered some in, my cost is only $30 ea plus shipping. I can order them by boat and they'll come in in early March or for $8 more (ea) have them shipped by air to arrive in a week or two.

So if anyone is looking for this bearing, send me a PM and I'll put together a list and send them out as they arrive.

Right now I'm only certain that they fit 1st Gen cars as I havent removed the right shaft on a 2nd Gen car to see if it's the same bearing, but I'll bet it is.

Send me a PM if you'd like to get on the list and let me know whether to go slow boat or quick like a MINI!
