    according to MINI the problem is a failing Ujoint in the steering column. Anyone else experience this problem before? it makes no noise and started to happen all of the sudden. This seems like an unlikely issue esp since it seems that all of the venders are not producing them at this point in time according to Germanautoparts.com.

    You can buy the right hand drive version....and install it on the US car with a few minor changes...
    IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE.

    I've got the same issue.. haven;t replaced it yet.
