Saw my first MINI with the Interstate Yellow paint job yesterday. PUKE, GAG, WRETCH !! Absolutely the worst color I've ever seen on a car and I've seen some real stomach churners. What could they have been smoking when they came up with that color? Labrador? ut: :yikes:
I think it's "Interchange Yellow" ? If that's what you're talking about... I think it's hideous. Yechhh.
I think it looks "ok"... until you put liquid or mellow yellow beside it, then you can see how 'greenish' it really is.
Yeah....... NOT one of my faves either, and I first saw it on a convertible with a dark blue top. It's eyecatching, that's for sure.....:blush2:
Or any other less greenish yellow really. I think this is also one of those colors that varies quite a bit in appearance depending on the light. Like all other colors, some will like this one and be upset when it's eventually deleted.
well, if you've spent much time changing diapers you KNOW what that color reminds you of..... But some like it, more power to them. We won't be trying to buy the same car though..... Matt
The kids 07 MCS was Mellow Yellow. We repainted in a year or so ago with the Honda Indy yellow pearl with some extra pearl in the clear. It looks pretty nice. Interchange yellow however........not my favorite by a large margin. Thosu some like it, it ain't my cup of pee, uh I mean tea.
My brother sent me a phone pic of an interchange yellow cabrio the other day with the caption "You should paint yours this color, lol" I wrote back and said "Thats interchange yellow" I got "They actually offer that from the factory!!??" lol He just thought someone decided to mess up a good color
Well....... I don't think it's a bad color. It is unique, and in my opinion, this specimen looks very nice with the black trim and all. In 20 or so years, I can see it all now...... For sale, extremely rare factory color... highly sought after... commanding exceedingly high resale prices... only for the MINI connoisseur who wants a one of a kind MINI. Last sold at auction for $175,000.00 USD. Let the bidding begin.
Story on extremely rare... the 65 Mustang was available with a factory front bench seat. Totally lame and not that good, as the car had a floor moutned shifter, but you COULD get it. Fast forward 45 years. Those that mine the production figures find that there are about 200 v8 mustangs with the factory bench seat. Does that mean they are worth more? Rare is NOT equal to valuable.... Matt
Oh.......... And unlike those crappy worthless Mustangs with the shifter and the bench seat, this fine specimen has buckets up front like a true sports car!
Well now, it's not fair of us to criticize, there may be some I-Yellow owners here on our board and I doubt they'd appreciate our criticque of their taste.... I once sold a new Porsche 944 Turbo to a slightly older gentlemen, a few months later I saw him in the service area and I asked him how he was enjoying his Burgundy Porsche..... Burgundy? .....he said. My car's green! Guess, what? Porsche never made a dark green 944 Turbo - or any green 944's - at least for the States. The man was color blind and I'm guessing he didn't know it! The point of course, is that what appears to be piss green/yellow to us could look completely different and very appealing to someone else.....
Bucket seats work........ [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chHpV2Hlt-k&feature=related]YouTube - Mini Cooper Ad -- "Lots of Space"‎[/ame]
