However, the premise of the O.P. still remains: Is it worth it to sink a substantial amount of money into a car that is nearly eleven years old with 130000 miles on the clock. After all it's just a "Justa". I guess that I answered my own question because I just did spend the money on it. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy with the work that DT did. They did what was necessary, did what they thought needed done while everything was apart, and kept me updated throughout the process. Chad, Nick, Andrea, and the rest of the crew are awesome.
If you want an S the you should get one because you will always wish you had one. But if that is not the case I say it is worth it. Every now and then I will go test drive another car that I may want. But I get back in my Mini and just love driving it too much. I would part with My car for a first get GP or a coupe, maybe. I just sunk around $1500 in parts on my 02 R53 and don't regret it a bit.
^^^^^ That is where I'm at. I just love the styling of the damn thing, and the way it drives. It just took some doing to put nearly $2300 into a car that is maybe worth $5000. The work that DT did was well worth that much, no question. But it still represents half the "monetary" value of the car. I guess that it is just part of the obsession that makes us spend all kinds of money on mods, detailing, maintenance, etc, on a car that we would rather have than any other. My goal was/is to keep the R50 as my daily driver, and to get an R53 (in Chili Red of course).
Hey Lee I know where you can get a nice Black Black Black coupe. FWIW the cheapest car is the one you already own. :yesnod:
It has been discussed, but I am still chewing on it. I have 3 in college and another starting next year. So I just don't know...........
Wowzer !! I had two in school at the same time and fortunately we had planned and saved for it and it was still an interesting time.
I understand Lee. As we both know family comes first. Maybe the seller will throw in a scholarship or two.
