Last week in South Africa 4 bystanders were killed as a result of 2 MINIs street racing. From The Citizen, a South African Newspaper In today's Mail & Guardian, another South African newspaper was this commentary.
I'll have you know I never killed anyone during my wheelbarrow days ! ! Same thing can be said of just about any sports car. Just check out Wrecked Exotic Cars - Pictures of Expensive Car Crashes and Wrecks for proof.

ive seen people street race all sorts of cars...i would say this was a coincidence...i have yet to see enough people street race minis to raise any alarms
Blanket statements are invariably incorrect, and also most often believed by those without the knowledge to know better. Take this: This is pretty much saying the same thing about the kid that burned down his house, because he saw Bevis and Butthead playing with fire in one episode. Do any of us truly believe that by owning our MINIs we are now exempt from traffic laws, or even the laws of physics, for that matter?
Almost anything (guns, cars, baseball bats, golf clubs, tricycles, etc) in the hands of the irresponsible can become a deadly weapon. The fact that the image of the Mini can attract the irresponsible cannot be denied.. But it was the people not the car that killed those children. Serves as proof that there is a time and a place for everything. This is very sad indeed..
The laws of physics seem to have a very efficient enforcement dept. They've gotten me a time or two. As for those South Africans, they seem to be saying that movies kill people. I say it is just part of Darwin's plan to remove the stupid from the gene pool. Unfortunately, there sometimes is collateral damage.
This blows my mind! It's got nothing to do with the car! If they were racing GMC Vans would they have blammed an old episode of "The A-Team"??? If they were driving old school Mustangs would they be blaming "Bullitt"..."Gone in 60 seconds"???
Lets not forget "The Fast and the Furious" movies! LOL And how about Vanishing Point. My all time favorite!
I was ignoring the obvious, as it is WAY to easy to jump on that bandwagon:frown2: This news article has as much relevance to the MINI brand as someone who stabs people with a Ginsu Knife... those late night infomercials can sure corrupted a guys mind! Dont get me started on the Magic Bullet...
