And to answer the question, that's not CarPlay in the photo. It's the crappy BMW system with a touchscreen.
Why would they need to preview carplay or Android auto...they are both in the wild in multiple makes/models as standard features and SHOULD be basicly the same from car to car....

The system is a POSSIBILITY compatible carplay/Android auto system that MIGHT get updated....
Think it just more click bait....to get folks to go there.... reality is, it is a stopgap fix so MINI/BMW can try to activate it later......cause they are a year or two behind other makers...
Gabe is always trying to spin things to a good light for MINI, rather than calling them out for their incompetence and ineptitude....(catch the spin on how it's the system from the 7 series BMW in a MINI, and implied you should be happy to get the BMW 7 series goodness).
It gets really old....perhaps he is hurting the MINI brand more than MINI by raising false expectations.....
He is just like a farmer..... maximizing his output, but not understanding that he must care for the land to ensure future crops....
