That's what I was told at MINI, we'll see what happens when I get it back

Let's see, at 57k... actually there are a few things you should check. That valve ticks on mine too, seems like a fairly normal sound and, as mentioned earlier, after a good drive, seems to fade away.
Also check or replace:
- New s-charger / serpentine belt: every 30k, religiously. While in there, put on a "tensioner limit strap", $20-30 at Detroit Tuned or Way, and prevents hundreds of dollars in damage should a belt fail.
- Bleed brakes, check brake pads/rotors. I seem to go through pads every 30-40k or so, but I live in hilly Pittsburgh and the car has been known to be "driven" sometimes.
- If clutch pedal seems gronky, may be the clutch linkage bushings, replace when you do the clutch, or do the bushings and replace the clutch at the same time. Most clutches last much longer than 60k but the bushings have been known to get gronky about that time. If clutch is smooth, you're good. If clutch makes a "chewbacca" sound when it's moist out, that's normal.
- Replace supercharger oil about 75k, maybe as long as 100k, depends. I did mine at 75k and it was honey amber (niyce!), others have reported their s-chargers going dry and whining about that mileage. I had access to a good friend and a shop so we did it - it's pretty involved.
Hope that helps! -
Got the car back on Monday, sorry it took so long to post. The ticking was due to the leaks. No internal damage was caused. Had the rear rotors and pads done as well. Couldn't afford to do it all at once, so bushings and struts are next.
