    Found a possible filter...

K&N part number 33-2736... Its for a Ford Fiesta of all things! I guess it works out though, because if you cross reference a S/C belt for a 15% pulley it comes up for a 1.9L Ford Escort! :)

Thats when I pull the top off the box (not pictured or built yet) and put a high strength magnetic sheet over the hole in the hood... I left plenty of room between the top of the box and the sheetmetal for this reason. :)

Looks like the total damage was minimal... No scaring on the crank or rod from the spun bearing! Probably could have got away with stuffing in a new rod bearing set from MINI ($350.00 fix), but it also looks like I was about to pop the head gasket on #2...

Got to do a little after work...

Tranny and engine are now connected and using my original clutch/pressure plate/flywheel... Not enough extra $$$ to get a new one, so it will have to do. Clutch disk has a little left to it, and it wasnt slipping when the rod bearing carped out, so I trust it for a little while.

Oil filter housing/heat exchanger is installed.

Decided to put the starter on before putting the engine back. (Just because it was such a pain to get out.)

Reusing my original oil pan, with new gasket. That will go on with the engine hanging in place.

Cam sensor swapped with my original and new O-ring.

Water temp sensor replaced with my original.

    New idler pulley installed.

And some other stuff I probably forgot to mention. :)

Awwwww I was going to post you have 74 days left today.:frown2:

Don't cry to me that this is somehow is my fault since you are the one that set the timeline. I mean you started this long before last years Dragon.

At least now you have the time to take all the time you need. A mad thrash to put a car together is never a good idea if you plan to drive it across the country. Enjoy your free time.

Ah, the MINI spiral of death, been there done that. One minor repair leads to a major one after an "incident". My favorite: back in the day before I bought a lift, didn't have the jack far enough from the car, and blew out the lower trim piece lowering it. Swore I'd never do THAT again. So, a year later, I did the exact thing. Other side though, at least I have two new pieces of trim instead of the same one twice, so there's that.

I'm blaming Dave on that one too.

    Still ordering parts as planned.

Other than the RMW shorty header (OBD-4 gutted cat version) my intake, and the cheapie meth kit, I will also be running a 15% pulley from Helix. Just ordered it. :) And still on hold for a gently used Gen-1 ViPEC, which should be requiring an 800 mile round trip drive to go pick it up soon!
