Thanks for the votes everybody! At some point this weekend, I want to give the go-ahead and get the stencils cut, so if you haven't voiced your opinion, DO IT QUICK! Even with the bottom 4 votes into the lead, it could still turn around...
    :D

Yeah. I'd love to see before and after pictures when you're done with the Rat-Mini.

I will get some up tonight!

Anyhow, I woke up this morning and started thinking again... (I know, theres your first mistake...) All along I was going to shave out the side scuttle vents in the front fenders, well after thinking for a few months about how to do it, I decided not to. Doing that requires changing all the mounting points on the top half of the fender, and the cowl, then caping the wire for the side marker light. Then having no room to actually get the nuts on the back side. In short it would be a huge pain in the ass to just get rid of a hole, so its not really worth it.

So I am going to head to the paint shop and get some more rust brown, and maybe a little Laguna Green... Got all weekend, who knows what all could happen. ;)

The easiest way to do this, and still be productive at it, is going to be a mass picture update at the end of the day with a crappy phone pic here and there.

The primer on the passenger quarter and door is leveled out to factory, and ready for rust... Got to wheel it back in the garage and get it done! :D

The color coats are going to be: Laguna Green on the quarter, and Kite Blue (Bayswater special edition color) for the door. Not sure if I will get that far today, but we will see. ;)

All 6 stages of rust are on those two panels... Went a little overboard on the dramatic effects! :D
Got to give it a good hour or so before I can do a light coat of primer, then the color...[IMG]

I just meant actually doing the same treatment to the windows and making it look like a panel van.

No good pics tonight, its too late to go through all the editing.

Tomorrow, I might get the hood, and a couple little pieces shot. I am finding it extremely difficult to not touch the door yet... Hopefully I can get the vinyl cut quick so I can get rolling on it. :D

You would think, but matte finish paint is a real pain to take care of. ;)

The stencils for the door graphics will be in my hands Thursday! :D

If anybody is looking for quality custom vinyl, shoot Kristan an email at Artistic Reflection (same girl that does the Eye Shades sun visors), she is awesome to work with, a great friend, and extremely talented. :D

Just like the "stance" scene, this isn't something I could ever see my self doing, but I admire the quality effort you are putting in to this project.

As long as everyone's contributing good ideas, you need a special grill - like one cut to shape from a '53 Ford F1 pickup or a '62 Chevy or a Weber grill!
