I did my time with stick shifts, from my '59 Classic Mini [where I learned to drive a stick shift], thru my dad's '63 Vette and my '66 Bug, when I went off to college. My wife and I moved from place to place and I learned to drive a column stick, too. We vacationed on Grand Cayman one Spring and I drove a rhd stick shift rental Mini. I went to Europe 33 times and spent a lot of seat time in Seats [Spanish Fiats], Renaults, and Citroens...ALL stick shifts.

I swore I would get another Mini one day and now I have 3...an R50 CVT, and 2 R53a models. Times change and people age. I loved driving a stick and I would still be driving one if I had not blown out my left hip while on a walking tour of Monaco. As they say in Spanish, "asi es la vida" [that's life]. So be it if I'm in Purgatory, but, lemmie tell ya...with a bad hip and trying to shift an R53 with it, THAT IS Hell.

Those should be nose and the tread will last since the Sprintex heat won't melt them.

As long as they last until I can either sell my brakes, or come up with the cash for the rest of the 15" wheels and new Nitto's... ;)

Nitto 01's might quite possible be the best bang for your buck high grip tire out there. You have to start getting into things like Hoosier's before you make a big jump.

They don't last long though, but at their treadwear rating, they shouldn't.

Dick, put the pipe down. Hoosiers are nowhere close to being cheaper, quite the opposite, unless you're buying one-offs. And if you run Hoosier's on the street, you'll better throw an extra set in the boot, you'll be changing them every third traffic light or so.

The price for the Hoosiers is right. That's for the tire only I'm betting. The price you showed for the Nittos was with mounting and balancing.

Nittos are $157 at Discount Tire, free shipping. Mounting and balancing shouldn't cost 70 bucks a tire, at least it's nowhere near that here.

145.00 retail for the new Dunlop Star Secs II. Same rating as your Nitto 's.

    * I dont pay retail and I get free mounting and balancing at my friends shop. :ihih:

The best part is they work in the rain and are not just DOT dry competition tires.

Right but dicks car, now that it's running, is a street / rusty show car.

I get what you are saying and I 100% agree for a autocross / track car.

Now would you put those tires on you car and drive from dicks place to the Dragon, run the Dragon hard, and drive home on them?

Hahaha. Blaze it up! 420! Speaking of which, on some Interstate here, they got rid of the 420 mile marker sign and replaced it with 419.99 because people kept stealing it. Honestly, I'd rather steal the 419.99 one. That one's at least got a story. Haha.

Oh, and sorry to disappoint, Dave, but I don't smoke pot... Or eat brownies. But I can tell you that almost everyone else I work with does. Lol.

    EDIT: It was I-70

My wonderful brother in law was nice enough to change the display settings on the house computer again, so the color is pretty screwed up on those pics! :(

The last one does look sweet though. I will get some others up tomorrow.

What size Azenis are you driving? I went to the Dragon on 15"s with mine 3 years ago and they were toast when I got back home. I got Nitto NeoGens and still have them, although they are getting thin now.
