Got to count, there is still a ton of cash into the suspension... Its set up to run extreme R comps, or slicks... Throwing on a set of rock hard Coker's is not a good idea. If I can get a place to put the white rings on a set of NT-01's I will! If they cant do it then they will just stay black.
I saw a rat rod yesterday with a rusty 4" hole cut in the door. The guy installed glass on the inside, so you could watch the window winding mechanism. I have a vision of a porthole cut into Isobell's driver's door, so people can watch your deft footwork on the pedals.
Spotted this when I was out and about today. Thought you would appreciate it MF. Powered by a 500ci Caddy.
MINI has just released this color as a limited color for the new Great MINI F56 so you car will no longer be unique. :nonod: Also they plan on suing you for stealing the color from them even though you created it first because they can spend 5 million on lawyers.
If MINI where to do a paint job like this... You could count on adding quite a few thousand dollars to the sticker... Its like that brushed stainless look on the F'ed 56 JCW concept... Way too costly to ever make production.
What's a few thousand for a New MINI owner as long as the paint job is covered under warranty. :ihih::lol:
... and if you actually COULD buy a car with the RatMINI finish... just try getting it matched when you need collision repair.
The stencils I had made for the fenders are being cut today... Not going to be a direct overlay of paint like the door graphics... Its going to be something totally different in the application and appearance, your gona need to hunt to see them...
Got the fender stencils in the mail today... Kristan works FAST! Nope... You cant see them! Wont even post any pics until the final base coat effect is achieved, then I will share my secret on how to do it. Last weekend in the army is this one, and a celebratory camping trip the next weekend... But, I will try to get the fenders and bottom of the cowl sprayed during the week in between. Cant wait to see a complete car (minus the bumpers) when I pop the garage door open again! The Cowl will need to be sprayed in place, due to the tight clearances and risk of damaging the paint if installed once completed. Decided to give up on the new Jungle Green, not doing a darker color either... Just going to keep a good thing going, and use Silk Green on the passenger side (passenger quarter is Laguna Green), and the cowl/driver fender will be Laguna Green against the Silk Green hood and driver quarter. All with a pretty heavy appearance of rust fade/ spots. WHEN (yes all caps on that) I brake down and order the bumper covers, the front will be Laguna, and Silk for the rear. The hood scoop still needs modified, and color has yet to be decided... Got to see how everything blends together after reassembly. Well there's your mid week update! Keep an eye out for any changes that might pop up.
Oh they will be... I need to keep it pretty thin so the paint can still flex with the rubbermaid plastic, even with added flex agent, but yes.
Cool ^^^ I am redoing my Chili Red JCW aero bumper now with Enamel and it is very cool how when I wet sand it down with 2000 and put it out in the sun the heat "self" polishes it. Today it is a little cold and humid so I can really spay on the clear until later. So I sanded a few orange peel spots and heated them with a heat gun and poof instant polish. Since I am making the paint perfect I wet sanded the whole thing down again with 2000 and completed the heat gun process again and it worked perfectly. 800 - 1100 degrees works wonders but you have to be very carful and do it in sweeps of you will burn and bubble the paint. Then you have to start all over from the very beginning.
