Bumper covers are on order... (Well the pieces that get paint)
Not too bad on price either going through a bigger body shop, but still more than I wanted to spend.
$130 For the front cover, $220 for the rear... But I still need all the trim, and the chrome pieces.

The cowl is about to get sprayed... Would have been SOOOOO much easier spraying it off the car, but I don't want to risk scratching it during install.

Ok so I have been done for a couple hours... But I just cant get off my ass and stop staring at it to take some pics! :)

Decided against doing the clears until I get the bumper caps, because I am going to be adding candies and want a perfect match on that step.

So, as soon as they arrive, the front will need to be modded to take advantage of a FMIC, and they will be base coated soon after. :D

I will at some point try to get some edits done, and post some good pic's... Just need to remove myself from this chair first!

Hey you can't put Dragon badges on a MINI until the MINI has been on the Dragon you poser.

You need to put them on the Jeep.

What is that piece that you have just posted pictures of? The thing that you just wired up that sticks out of the cowl. I'm not too familiar with the R53.

Its a kill switch to shut the car down from the outside in case of an emergency. (Also makes a decent anti theft device)

I drilled the hole, and welded the bracket on 3 years ago when I planned on keeping with my challenge car clone theme, and just decided to keep it.

Taking the weekend off again... Need a little "creative inspiration" time, so I am headed to the sticks... Somewhere around 11,000 feet, with no phone service, and nobody else around!

FedEx says Tuesday for the bumper caps, so over the long 4th of July weekend, I will be spraying the body with clears, candies, and pearls... In the waiting time in between coats, I will be getting the bumpers prepped and modded to my liking.
Got to start looking for the chrome trim (hopefully 2 sets for the front and rear... I have ideas. ;) ) also need to find the OE plastics for the lower and arch trim. Need to hold off on ordering the rear lower valance until I find out if I will need to mod the Justa's piece, or if I can use the valance from the "S" in which case I will try and track down a GP lower rear.

As it sits right now, the base coat on the body panels is at about 90% of the look I am after. I have feathered in a lot more rusty areas throughout the week, just need to dress some edges, do a little touch up here and there, and take a good long look at it from all angles in varying light. The clears are going to change the look a good bit, so don't think it is going to look exactly like the previously posted pics!

Well theres a solid weekly update... Getting close, and that means its close to stuffing the donor motor.

You and me both! With any luck it will be on to checking the donor motor out, and replacing some small stuff in no time.

Well they only sent the front bumper cover... :(

Not a big problem, because the rear is still coming, and I really don't need it to accomplish this weekends tasks.

There is some custom touches coming to this, but here it is... Right out of the box in all its OE ugliness!

Back in the early days of the R50, these where what most people called the ugliest bumpers MINI came up with... They grow on you though! (Hence the shortage of finding low dollar used take-off's)

Lets hope for an F56 facelift to cure that ugly front end too! :p
