    So true!...

Ok so in between rain clouds the lighting is horrible, and posting pic's here from my phone make things worse, but here are a couple...

After all the nagging you all did, I figured I would try out some bullet holes... First time in, well forever... Didn't turn out half bad.

The only thing I don't understand is after all the hard work you've done, why does your car look like an old peace of crap? :D

    Well because...

    I guess I just like different! :)

Still waiting for this thing to get fully hardened so I can rub the bumps off, and get it ready for the final clear.

Just got back from Cars&Coffee, got my fill of shiny high end cars, so its back to the rust bucket.
Got almost half the car wet sanded smooth last night, but still have a lot to do before laying down the final coats. :D

For how cool that is... it does make me cry a little on the inside, to see a beetle chopped that hard.

I think that Beetle is sweet! There are a ton of things I would have done differently, but to each their own. Going rat gives total creative freedom, and if somebody else doesn't like everything or anything about it that just opens the door for new ideas by the next guy...

I cant even count the number of times I thought I screwed the paint up this weekend! Luckily what I thought was going to screw it up, just made it better! :)

    In other news...

    Sanding...

    Sanding and...

    Sanding and...

    SANDING AND?

Yup, still SANDING! (Hey perfect mixed with rusty turd, is not an easy mix, but keep at it long enough... It will polish up.) :D

OTOH, it could have been a POS to start with, so ratting it out was the only way to save it from crumbling into a pile of rust.

Was that real or fake rust on the bug!!! Big pre 71 car show this weekend and probably 80% was rat rod type rides. Bikes, mini bikes, motorcycles, trucks, Tractor ( as in 18 wheeler tractor ) claims to be daily driven. No MINIs though!!! Heavy Rebel Weekend..

From the look of the bug, it is acid washed for the light surface rust, then cleared... Might have some additives in the clear too.
