Its not that big Savvy, you'll see it in May! To answer the question though... The air into the box is going to be imported from this thin called "the outside"... Yes this is a tricky feat with MINI's, and yes extensive body work was involved... That "hole", the one that MINI didn't put there, thats my air supply. Now on to the progress of the day, well half day, I spent the morning with some of the folks who make up MINI5280... First up was hacking into the 3/16" plate for the mounting of the filter... With that panel cut, it was just a bunch of take it apart, put it back together, add a fastener here, put it back together, take it apart, put it back... You get the idea. After all that, this is how it now sits. I will be polishing some of the aluminum tomorrow, Tuesday I'm going with R53junkie to check out his possible new car, then back to this piece of the project on Wednesday. Stay tuned!
Hmmmmm...the pic taker musta been on some of that legalized weed [aka, he's pretty "high"]....
Well, looks like I'm not getting much done for a couple days... Winter decided to show up, and it can suck my name!
If you had not mentioned the drone , then I would have thought Dick was high as a kite taking the phone LOL.... mmmmm reading this build is making me think I didn't put enough effort build the rally Mini....saying that I have plenty of work to do.....rock and roll!
You have done a great job Chris. With the rule set for your rallying class you have done an outstanding job! Now if only you could mod the drivetrain and suspension to no end... That would be great!
It was back to work on the air box for a little while today. I polished everything I had cut, and assembled the top panel at least. Now I need to cut the mounting rails for the filter plate before I can go any further. Probably do that one day this week at work so I have something to do over the long weekend. I also took the Porker down to Erik&Teresa's for a while to hang out and shoot the bull. Dragon planning season is here!
No the Porker is staying pretty! I have been thinking about a bright obnoxious orange roof on it though...
Well I thank that rust bucket is pretty. Look you do Porkchop in rust then park it in front of the Mini dealer with a sight that reads "ask us about our rust protection":lol:
Looks Like lots of hours of fun and determination. You and I are knee deep in the sh^T of our builds. I need to start my build thread here soon!
