    A little test fitting...

And as much as I hate unbolting the NACA duct it had to be done... I've got to do a little trimming, and need to remake the piece of aluminum that mounts to the top of the back wall. Not a big deal, I was actually expecting to have a few more hiccups with this project than I have had.

Thats all I've got for now. :)

looks good! what happens if it rains? I ask because I had something similar on an old MG, it rained and the filter got so wet it stopped the air going in and killed the engine until I dried out the filter but it was a K+N so maybe that was the issue.

First of all, this build is pretty sweet. Congrats on a really nice job. I like the workmanship on the intake: my only quibble is the carbon fiber finish on the NACA duct. I think it betrays the ratness of the rod. How bout wrapping that sucker or painting it to match the patina of the rest of the car?

Thats when I pull the top off the box (not pictured or built yet) and put a high strength magnetic sheet over the hole in the hood... I left plenty of room between the top of the box and the sheetmetal for this reason. :)

    Thanks Eric!

I might respray the clear on the NACA its pretty scuffed in spots... Might add a little cinnamon brown candy pearl, but it's going to stay as one of the only shiny pieces on the body. ;)

No dents Savvy! In person under the right lighting, some of the rusted spots look mangled! ;)

Why not fab a scoop to cover the rat hole in the hood and paint is rusty?

You won't have to paint the NACA Cf scoop and it will help keep water out while it sitting.

The magnet seals the water out... Read the above posts.

Adding a scoop to a scoop is like adding splinters to toilet paper!

You are missing my point as you would not need a magnet if it rains and you are not near your car.

That fine it does not matter since it's still not running yet. :prrr::prrr::prrr:

It lives indoors... Always will, and if its not in the garage, I'm not far from it.

It will be running by April.

    And it starts...

The blown motor is on its way out of the car, and into the corner this weekend! Might even get the donor motor in if I can work fast enough!
