Dick, I was lurking around on another forum ( not NAM) and realized you live in Thornton, CO. I used to lived in Thornton from 4th grade up to the end of 8th grade. We lived in the Sherwood Hills area off of E. 100th Ave.
Ha ha small world! I am still in Grange Creek Just up the road from there around 112th and Colorado Blvd. Been here FOREVER unless I was out playing army somewhere.
Hey Narvarr, I say I let you switch houses with me until summer starts up. You can get all your nostalgia of CO back. Plus now you can do it while smoking pot and eating brownies. "Memory Enhancers" I hear.
Ha ha, if we switch, your stuck there till fall. I'll take CO summer temperatures over TX summer temperatures any day. Lol
Noooo see..... I like it in the Summer here. But I hate every other season here. So we really should just switch until summer...
320 Miles in! The rain has been patchy since before I got out of CO, and I might want to wait this next one out a little! For all the people who asked what I do if it rains having the NACA duct in the airbox... Got that covered! There is a 10-20 degree difference in airbox temps with the vent open or covered. Back on the road in a few!
You aint kidding about the storms! It was shear ridiculousness from the west side os Salina to almost where 70 turns toll road! The rain came down so hard and fast my tape holding the magnet down got soft and the magnet flew off! Thankfully that happened after I got out of the rain, but the magnet slapping against the windshield scared the shi... Carp out of me! Saw 3 cars spin off into the ditch, and mine wiggled around a few times in standing water... Now I am on the east side of Kansas City, and about to hit the road again...
I'm back on the right side of the big river... Was going to stop for a pic with the Gateway arch, but it was socked in with fog. I didnt even stop at my "oh crap I took the wrong road" gas station either, for the first time in 12 years of driving through here! I just passed it by, gave it the finger, and kept going... Plans changed, and my army buddy is going to try and meet up in Mount Vernon on the return trip... Plotted everything out, and his house is just to far out of the way. Still have to keep the NACA duct taped up... And I am not sure about the safety orange duct tape. (Its over masking tape so no residue...) And onward to Tennessee, to see my adopted family!
I arrived at Ft. Campbell about an hour ago! If the lady in the white CMS-4 (Georgia plates) riding with me an SRT8 300, and a Camaro SS, down 24 once we crossed into Kentucky is on the board and looking at the thread, I hope to see you at the Dragon! Man those muscle car guys are NUTS! Right now, the plan is, just to chillax a bit, have a beer and take a nap! I will probably put up some pic's of how the "grownups" do it later on, but I will keep it decent! I already found a new friend too... Its been crawling all over my arm as I typed this!
