So I have decided to look more into a house that needs work, but comes with more land, and more privacy.

This place could become my new home...

I know at 1000 SQ FT its not much of a house. I don't need much though as long as I don't start reproducing.

    The kicker of this property...
It has a small garage on a concrete slab, perfect for MINI storage...

    Inside the shop...

That I could turn into a nice little paint shop! It is a 30 X 50 with the one separated stall.

    Not to mention...

This would be my front yard!

It all sits on a 13.25 acre lot, backed by National Forest land!

Could make a nice headquarters for Dick's Garage, and it would only set me back $100K! However, the house itself needs about $50-$75k in the remodel... So basically all said and done I would have a full buy in at the same price as the turn key houses that sit on less than an acre that I have been looking into, and I wouldn't need to fight to get a shop built!

I have been pre approved for a substantial loan through the VA, so if this stays on the market for a couple months, I will have you guys over next year while you are visiting the Dragon. :D

I'm just thinking about getting the house first... Then how much of a workload I could bring in with a shop like that!

It might be enough to just be self employed, and work on my own schedule the rest of my life... Kinda scary when you are only 31 years old! :)

The thought crossed my mind! But I would rather just add a massive Master suite off the side of the house, and rent out the 2 other bedrooms when I start making new friends down there...

With the acreage though, I could possably add a couple small vacation rental cabins tucked back in the woods later on though! :)

So many ways to turn a $200K expense into a money maker... ;)

Thanks Erik. I kinda am obsessing over this place like Teresa does! It has everything I want though, and the possibilities are endless. :)

Thats a great place!! Sounds great if you don't mind doing the remodeling. But the thought of you reproducing is a little troublesome.

Love the looks of the outside of the house - and 1k square feet is enough. I'm currently living in 960 square feet, and the only thing I want for is a basement and a bigger garage.

    Less to clean!

    Exactly!

If and when I get this place, I will make a dedicated thread for the remodel. A lot of the work would be contracted out, and I will be doing the finishing touches. Its just easier to pay a crew to come in and do the work so I can start a job as soon as I get down there. :)

Probably going to add about 600 more SQ/FT in a big master suite and laundry room as well as make the two current bedrooms into one by dropping the wall.

So much to think about, and I cant really do anything until I get done with my disability claim. :(

Looks like if I get that one I will have hidden neighbors on one side, and a barn with horses on the other... I can live with that given the location... Its perfect for a small business being on the outskirts of down town Robbinsville, just behind the old furniture plant. Mow the field down just before MOTD, and we could fill my front 40 with MINI's for a group photo if somebody has a drone!

The field in the front is only half of the property, there's a chunk that big going up to the top of the hill in the back! :D
