What is it with you people... Dents, bullet holes, bondo! Cant a guy just have a nice clean rust bucket these days! The WC50 green is sick, but its a little too dark. The BRG II isn't that bad though.
You can use real Bondo next year when we add the bullet holes and dents at Fontana. :ihih::devil::lol:
I'm hoping for some cool car chase story here!!! and not I found it that way one morning type of a story!!!! :cornut:
Here is a rat rod on Jay Leno's Garage [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQVpSFoROg4"]ICON Derelict - Jay Leno's Garage - YouTube[/ame] Dave
Here's the story as told to me by the last owner. He and a friend were driving down a back road in Texas during hunting season. (You see the problem already and Cheney wasn't around) They heard a loud bang against the side of the car. When they stopped they found the dent. They were just glad it wasn't 2 inches higher. Sorry it wasn't more exciting but at least it wasn't "it was there when I woke up". It is from a large cal round but have been coming down and lost the velocity. Body shop guys have said that it stretched metal as far as possible with making a hole. No I'm not going to get it fixed. It makes a nice story. Sorry for the hijack. Now back to the Rat Rod.....
Hows the weather looking for this weekend ModFather ? Here's to a sunny weekend with lots of progress so we can see some updated pictures on Tuesday....:cornut: Can't wait to see how the graphics on the doors will come out Are you gonna use a pick axe for the holes or a baseball bat for the dents... ( that was for Dave.0 )
Haha, like that idea, could have a chop party! But if it is going to be as real Rat Rod you can't use bondo you have to use lead. Could always invite Gene Winfield or Bill Hines to do the chop, maybe even french some head or tail lights while they are at it!
The weather is looking alright for the weekend. Got the one door stenciled last night... Got to finish it off after work. Will post pics later on.
Are they sure? I heard a big bang on the front of my car last week that I would have sworn was a mortar hit, but it turned out to be a chunk of metal from a truck three ahead of me on the Interstate that nicked the the hood, smashed the trim on the trailing edge of the hood (new one: $63), fortunately missed the windshield and flew up over the car. I like your story better though. Maybe I'll steal it. :biggrin5:
Ready to mask it all off tomorrow, and start the morning with a nice cup of high build primer on the drivers side...
Just had time to catch up on this thread, awesome build and great job on the paint. Can,t imagine the end results.
