I get down there on the Sunday before everything starts and have done for many years. You'll want to do the same.
OK, this needs a bump because I need you guys to help me out please.. I need the following for the dinner: Soda - At least one of each: 2 liter bottles of Coke, caffiene free Coke, something diet, or whatever is your favorite. Seems most folks drink beer, but I'd like to have something non-alcoholic available. Salad - Caesar seems to be a favorite. Pre-dressed is best so I don't have to throw away bottled salad dressing. Please don't bring bagged snacks like chips, pretzels, etc. I have nothing to put them in, folks don't eat them and I hate throwing food away. As far as desserts go, think finger friendly i.e. cookies, pre-cut brownies, cup cakes, etc. Cakes and pies require serving utensils, extra plates and forks and my car will hold only so much. I also need folks to help clean up after. This means collecting cups, plates, napkins, etc. and putting them in the trash. It also means hauling said trash out to the garbage cans. Pots will have to be scrubbed, utensils washed. That's about all I can think of for now. If I think of anything else, I will post here. Thanks in advance and see you all soon!
Ok, Katie. I'll bring some soda pop. My roomie, Mark [putterfarm] has had to cancel as his wife has MS and he had to take her to the hospital today...doesn't look good [she has MS]. Please say a prayer for Bonnie and Mark!
You want someone to bring Crickets? Ground as seasoning? or...I've been itching to try my Cabbage, Peas ‘n’ Crickets salad on a larger audience.
Katie, even though I am leaving early Tuesday, I'm driving an R50 cvt and am not sure I will get there in time for the supper. I'll try, though, and if I do make it, will bring some bottles of soda pop...might be consuming them in my room that next week, though...lol.
Hope you can make it Jeff. Not because I'll need the soda, but so you can have some dinner! I can ask someone else to bring the soda, that way you won't be under any time constraint.
This Saturday is the first farmers market of the season. I'll hit that up and then head south. Might need to find some fridge room. Who knows what I'll have, but it will be fresh, organic and local (to me). I promise, no insects will be knowingly added.

Went to the first farmers market of the season this morning. Among other things, I picked up Ramps..woohooo. I love spring. Making a Ramp Pesto for the pasta.
Katie, I bought 2 12-packs of regular Coke and diet Coke [one of each]. They are in the car and just waiting for me to leave here.
