I am not saying it an ugly car by any means, it looks and I bet performs like crazy.

I am just kind of over it already, but if you tossed me the keys I would take it, drive it and sell it.

Sweet Merciful Crap: Jaguar Is Building A Production F-Type Project 7! (Jalopnik.com)

Last year Jaguar introduced a concept called the Project 7 at the Goodwood Hill Climb. It was basically a D-Type homage in an F-Type frock. Of course, it was just a concept. Jaguar wouldn't ever build something like that. Or would they? Because holy **** this looks like a production version. (UPDATE: It's real!!)

This car, that we saw on Bold Ride, clearly show a Project 7-esque F-Type with more production elements. The wheels, ride height, and chopped windshield are gone from the concept, but the glorious helmet hump behind the driver's seat remains. Power for the Project 7 concept was the 550 horsepower engine you'd find in the F-Type R Coupe, and it seems like that same sort of power would transfer over here.

Or maybe even more power, like what we've heard rumored for the F-Type RS that you know is happening soon.

Color is more a sea blue than the Ecurie Ecosse Blue of the concept car, and still looks great. What isn't clear is if it's a track day special, a road legal track car, or a sportier F-Type with a glorious hump behind the head. Whatever it is, we need it.

Rumor has it the car will debut officially soon ahead of the Goodwood Hill Climb this weekend. Cannot wait.

Update: The Project 7 production car has 567 horsepower and is limited to just 250 units. Price should be pretty far north of $100,000. Unlike the concept, it has two seats, a trunk, a roof (which apparently is still kind of wonky), and no sunglasses on the cat in the front. Still, who cares. Jag is making this a reality. That's cool.

It will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.

The full height windshield is a bit disappointing but otherwise :drool

Of course thanks to the price tag I won't be buying one so my opinion doesn't mean much.....

Jaguar's F-Type Project 7 made its world debut back in June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but now the stunning speedster is being showcased in its American specification in the lead up to the Pebble Beach Concours dâ€™Elegance taking place this weekend. The biggest difference between our version and the one showed back at Goodwood is the windshield: Because of local regulations a full height windshield has been fitted instead of the shortened one available elsewhere.

The carâ€™s hero colors are Glacier White and Ultra Blue, the latter being the signature color of the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) responsible for building the cars. Other colors available include British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red.

Only 250 examples will be builtâ€”for worldwide consumptionâ€”and if youâ€™re interested youâ€™ll need to fork over at least $165,925, which includes a $925 destination charge. That may seem steep compared to regular F-Type pricing, but not only is the F-Type Project 7 one of the most exclusive Jaguars ever launched itâ€™s also the brandâ€™s most powerful car ever put into production.

Peak output is rated at 575 horsepower, generated by an uprated version of Jaguarâ€™s familiar supercharged 5.0-liter V-8. The engine is paired with the F-Typeâ€™s usual eight-speed automatic and will rocket the car to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and see it keep accelerating until a governed 186 mph top speed is reached.

If youâ€™re wondering where the inspiration for the F-Type Project 7 came from, the rear fairing has been made to resemble the one on the Jaguar D-Type race car, and the â€œ7â€ in the name marks Jaguarâ€™s seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990.
