I've built a bench flash tool for the R53s. So It's not out of the question if he wants to flash your DME on it. If you want to be really fancy, bring your DME, your ignition key ring, and EWS, and you can even road test it on a similar vehicle. Now that's sexy remote tuning.![]()

DITTO on that....:cornut:
TVA ???? what is that? -
I was trying to make a joke about his car being on "meth".

TVA Cops are with the "Tennessee Valley Authority". They are Federal and work both sides of the state lines. Fontana, the dam and such fall within their jurisdiction. They date way, way back to the days of "The New Deal", after the great depression.

TVA.....
Weren't they established as part of the federal "Public Make Work Project" during the great depression? To help get people back on their feet and get the economy up and running. Dams to generate electricity, parks and stuff like that. Didn't know they were also the police.

Yes they were. You know your U.S history MM. I really did not know they were still around either until I talked to two of them at last years MOTD. They were standing in the vendor area and we had a chat. Very interesting department in the way they are set up, but yes, they do have police powers, which is why they were there.

agranger MINI of the Month June 2009Supporting MemberYep. I emailed Jan and he is going to do an update on my custom tune as well. I had my R53 tuned back before the P1685 Cold Weather code issue had been found, so I'm going to get an update.
I love the tune... it really improved drivability and reduced the throttle lag I had been hating for so many years. Just 5-6 times a year, though, the car goes into limp mode when it's under 32 degrees (usually on the highway) and that's a bit of a PITA. I'm happy that Jan is coming to MOTD... makes it easy to get the fix. -
Hmmm, I wonder... :idea: if I pull my ECU and fly it over with me, would I be able to get a "canned" tune? Would that count as bringing my MINI to the Dragon? :lol:

DUDE! :eek6:
Sounds like a bit of work though (Getting the ECU through airport security would be fun enough, throw in the rest and... "Moon River"
)
