I really like that car too. Lots of bang for the old retiree's buck. :biggrin5:

If an old & flatulent fella bought one of those how badly would it screw up their demographics? :donut1:

Couldn't screw it up any more then what you did to MINI's demographics! When I was looking at cars, I went to a couple ST specific forums. It felt like a younger crowd, but I was really only looking through the Fiesta ST threads.

I would agree that both cars offer a lotta bang for the buck (especially the for the discounted prices that some of the loaded Focus STs were going for). I didn't drive a Fiesta ST, but I think it could be a very fun toy. Seems like it could be a little raw (R53ish) to be a DD.

I do like the looks of them but sadly I will never buy another American car ever again.

I once said that, but times change. I think its bang for the buck & grin factor are pretty high. Could the reliability be worse than MINIs? Bang for the buck & grins are high on my must have list. :D

I wouldn't screw around with an American 4 cylinder car... $30K Can buy a lot of bang for the buck in a new base model 5.0 Mustang...
    Just sayin.

Not that I'm planning on getting rid of my MINI, but if something happened to it I sure as hell won't be buying another. Hope mine lasts for a very long time.

Not a fan of Mustangs. Don't have enough hair to grow a mullet. I do feel folks should drive what they want. So Dave it's ok to get that Prius, you'll get no grief from me.

I never really was either, but I've got to say with the current body, the Coyote 5.0, and all the great numbers that car is capable of... It makes the $42K out the door price I payed for a fully loaded EVO VIII back in '05 look like that car was a POS for the money. Stripped down the 5.0 was $28K last I looked, with 425 HP stock, better lap times than a new M3 stock, and if you can make it hook it will rip just about anything else out on the street right now in a 1/4 mile... STOCK! Plus people are getting a lot more power for not much more money in the aftermarket.

Cant really argue you aren't getting your moneys worth, and then some. :)

Maybe one day I will jump on a nice used one, but it can stay outside... The MINI will always have the garage to come home to. :)

I drove one, it was a kick in the pants. It's the only car that would come close to my Mini. The Recaros were great. Very nice car. But then I get back in my Mini and fall in love agine.

If I had to buy a new car tomorrow my guess is I would get a Fiesta ST. It gets great reviews and is the right size for what I want/need. Everything I have read points to it being a 4 door R53 with a turbo instead of a super charger.

The current mustang is just too big for my taste. I want something that fits on narrow roads.

If I had to buy a mullet car it would be the new Camaro SS.

Just because I am the kind of a55hole that would drive a Camaro. :ihih:

Chuck you'll have to drive Julie's some time. It's a very nice car. It handles well has great power and delivers 26 city and 30 hwy actual mpg so far.

I wouldn't get rid of my MINI. But if I had the money I'd look at a Fiesta ST as the daily driver and save the MINI.

The only thing that sucks about the Focus ST is you can only get it in the 4-door model. I don't need 4 doors! :incazzato:
