Twini Minis aren't new. Here's one of the first, the Downton, from the 1960s:

I sure do like that. It would be fun to tone down the paint work a bit & go hunting Mustang SVT Cobras. :arf:

Angib beat me to it...yep the Twini Mini isnt a new concept...BMC had a few if i remember as tech cars and one was driven by John Cooper and they scrapped the idea because it was a bit too scary of a concept.... Wayne Carini of Chasing Classic Cars has one of the original Twini's i think

also...250whp? my @$$ it makes 250...and that interview he wouldnt even say what power it did make for certain

I just dropped off my MINI at Jacques' shop this morning (for this problem). His goal had been to enter the NASA 25 hours of Thunderhill which just ran this past weekend, but he felt it wasn't ready and even at 500 hp it wouldn't be a top competitor. He will be preparing for next year's race. He said he had a great time meeting Leno and toured his collection.

I bet that thing blows up a few more times before its ready for the track. Also NO WAY that thing has 250 WHP to each axles ...I call BS.

I also bet that thing will never EVER Finish a 12 of 24 hour race and it will just become another "coffee table".

    MOTOR ON!

It sure would be fun watching that thing run in a race. For me any car that hits the track is superior in my twisted mind. One engine or two. Not sure how it would do, but I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. Neat car for sure.

Thanks for posting that cut away, pretty cool. Yes the Twini is not a new concept.

Do you remember the two engined 2CV that actually made limited production? I thin k it was called the Sahara.

I missed this thread earlier. TWINI ran fast at practice at Thunderhill even with 8 year old tires. Got in several hours of track time with no problems. I have some video I will edit and post later. It was tough taking photos as the temps were about 24F and a stiff wind. Hard to take pics with gloves on :) Here are some photos from Thunderhill.

Why so much negativity Dave O.? I always see you posting this is the "fun MINI site" but you're tearing this guy down for some unknown reason. I don't post often, but just seems like your comments are misguided.
