Yes I know there are many threads on this however mine is different. See I somehow stumbled upon 06 jcw calipers on Craigslist for 300$ and the guy and I talked to 250. So I'm wondering if this is a fair price?

They are off a 55k mile mini which had them in the trunk upon a trade in at a local lot. So they could essentially have less. It was a jcw with Wilwood kit on at the time so I can rest assured they came from that mini. The only thing missing is one of the calipers is missing the 2 carrier bolts for the mounting bracket. I found them at minimania for 4$ a piece. I am in no means rushing a brake upgrade but if this is a bargain I'll snag them while they are available and then grab some rotors and pads for the jcw when I need to service my brakes and do it all then. That way I stretch my already spent dollars. My front calipers on my mini are stock with 257k miles. So a lower mileage caliper should help as well.
I hope to grab hawk HP Plus pads and the wmw slotted and drilled rotors when the time comes.

Oh and that same caliper bracket is missing the pad metal brackets. Those thin pieces of metal that the pads slide in on. So I would also need to find those. Just remember after I saw them missing in the picture.

If the bracket is missing there over priced. You can get R56 calipers paint them red and add the JCW sticker for less

Its not the caliper bracket it's the metal shims that the pads snap into

My personal opinion is that at 250 they are worth it.

Buy the bolts and the shim, some SS line, and your choice of Ceramic Pads.

I have to assume that you do not have the R56 front rotors already, get a set of the Centric's from one of the eBay sellers, you can choose if you want Drill, Slotted, Drilled & Slotted or Plain.

There are all kinds of different schools of thought on this; I do not track my car so I went with the Drilled & Slotted and am very happy with the look and function.

With that setup installed and broken in you will be able to stop hard enough to make the fillings in your teeth fly out!

Yup that's what I did and added Akebono's and Centric plain rotors and they were excellent on the Dragon this year.

I do not know if that part is available separately I can look though.

it looks like they do come with a set of factory pads so you might have to do that to get the parts that you need in order to make this set work.

250 is a ok price but ive seen better, i got my complete front set for 300 with pads and rotors.
Also +1 for staying away from hawk stuff.
    Personally I prefer carbotech.
