    Just to help you out, that chip looks like its the resin. The JCW Hood scoop is actually vacuum infused carbon fiber, which is why you can see the weave on the bottom. I can't say for sure, but I don't believe they clear coat their hood scoops. Still, a chip in the resin is easily repairable.

    Thanks for the info ninjlao. I haven't done any research on it.

    After further inspection I noticed whoever installed the scoop on my car originally cross threaded one of the studs.
    I will post a detailed picture later.

    Price drop down to $130 shipped.
