Now $598 for JCW Brake Kit at Morristown MINI:shocked:
RE: Rotors
I chose not to get these, cause they look well weird, the left side has the typical slots, looks ok, then the right side looks just WRONG, kinda like a directional tire mounted incorrectly. I secretively (to not embarrass) told the SA if they accidentally mounted two left side rotors, said that everyone says that, its a design flaw in my book.

Got my R55 MCS take-offs for $150.
Now installed with freshly turned smooth rotors, Carbotech Bobcats, Grassroots Garage lines and G2 red paint... they're better than JCW, and I have $400 total in them. :cornut: -
Congrats, that is definitely a good price for those brakes, nice shopping.

Funny coincidence, I ordered the JCW Sport Brakes from Morristown a couple of weeks ago at that price ($598). They were shipped a couple of days ago, so I'm anxiously waiting. No drilled rotors for me either.
FYI they actually have them in stock, so they should ship immediately if you just order the kit. I also ordered some floor mats that were out of stock, hence the delay in shipping. -
The TSW R-4 track pads for JCW work very well. Dusty but hold up great. Same pad fit 2nd Gen Mini. Track pad only. Their sloted rotors are also very good, When the slot is gone its time for new rotors. My .02.

I don't know if this helps any, but I swapped for the JCW Sport brake kit a long time after I had swapped my brake lines for s/s lines and it was a direct fit, so I would venture to say that any replacement s/s lines (I have an 05 MCS) that would fit your stock setup would do just fine with the JCW Sport brake setup. Any M/A sponsors such as Way Motor Works, Texas Speed Werks, Detroit Tuned, etc. should be able to hook you up no problem.

I'm looking to go the same route as you, just curious if there are any special mounting brackets needed to fit the R56 takeoffs onto our cars or are they straight bolt on?? Also the Grassroots Garage lines, do you just order lines for an R53 or do you have to order R56 to thread into the calipers? Not even sure if they are any different. Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.

1) the calipers and rotors are a straight bolt-on. Just works. No adapters, brackets, special hardware, or anything else needed, EXCEPT
2) the lines. It DOES take "special" brake lines, with the R53 car-end connector, and the R56 caliper-end connector. Dan at Grassroots has these made up specially on request - only takes him a day or two. But you do need to specify what you're doing so you get the right lines. -
Sweet thanks Paul for the help and the SUPER FAST response!! I don't know why I bothered asking on the "other" site :frown2: That was 24hrs ago and still have not gotten a response!!! "OTHER SITE" - FTL!!

According to this person, a stock R56 brake line can be used with a slight modification North American Motoring - View Single Post - R56 brakes = R53 JCW brakes?
The entire thread is good reading MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - R56 brakes = R53 JCW brakes?
SS front brake lines from StopTech for the R56, 950.34017, fit the male hard line fitting on an R53 and have the appropriate male end for the R56 caliper.
Werkin Mini now carries a two piece, directional veined rotor that is a direct replacement for the R56/R53JCW rotor. $350 each

So Keith, I'm lookin at those pics on my iPhone. Are those dimples or holes? And they are $300. for a front set or $600. for the front set? Plus how does one navigate in your site? All I can look at is the Crower and Endyn stuff. Thanks, Jim.
