RealOEM shows the same part number for both the MSC and JCW intercooler.
There is also not any mention of the I/C in any of the JCW literature that I have on hand. I'd imagine that would be a feature MINI advertising would point out.
Check GBMini site. He has some pictures from when he had the JCW kit installed way back in the day. I believe the JCW had some coating on the inside which became standard in either '05 or '06.
As clarification, was the original question regarding the R53 or R56 with the JCW option?
I would like to know about the R56 in particular (since it is in the appropriate. sub-forum). I'm pretty sure that the dealer installed JCW does not have a larger IC. How about the factory installed ones?
oh man, I have to take what I said back. Beer and posting don't mix. I thought we were taking about superchargers, not intercoorlers. On R53 they were the same. Except for the GP version, which was t rows bigger.
Actually it doesn't matter if it's R53 or R56. The R53 JCW and non JCW both have the same intercooler. Also the R56 JCW and non JCW have the same intercooler. The only MINI to ever get different intercooler was the GP and it had 2 extra rows on it.
