Speaking of Porsche I got to drive a new 991.2 GT3 on the track a couple of weeks ago. My son signed me up for one of the "drive a supercar on the
track" deals. A birthday present and a complete surprise. They had three GT3s, five Lambo Huracans and three or four Ferrari 488 GTBs. Being a
Porsche fan boy since I was eleven I was happy with his pick. Expensive but the best money he ever spent!

Yes like peaches & kumquats. The Cayman is a real value that the GP3 will most likely never be. Me I'd buy a Golf R, as an old guy the upright seating would suit me more. o_O

Memphis International Raceway. Big name for a small track. The straight is the drag strip. I will see how my first time goes. I would really like to drive Barber.

Yea that's a little bit of apples and oranges (new verse used). If you go down the used market at that price.... there are lots of options. Mine would be an 04 lower miles.. Lotus (Granted they are getting hard to find in that price range.. but there are still some out there. :Stig:

Made the switch from Dark Helmet to my 06 997 C2S and never looked back. Still have the 05 MCS but the P Car puts the biggest smile on my face.[IMG]

I LOVED all the track days and tracks I covered, but all good things have to come to an end, eventually. My last track days were 7 years ago.

It's great to see you back here again, Mark! Please don't be a stranger.

I'm doing okay, and still have the '03 R50 and the 2 '06 R53s [my wife's and mine]...getting older but still clicking along.

Seat time is the BEST time you can do with your car. It lets YOU know what YOU can do and how your car responds to what you are doing...right or wrong, and you learn to avoid the wrongs. The more experience you get by tracking your car, the better driver you will become, both on the tracks as well as on the interstates, where you must contend with the fast and furious but not so great drivers.

Not quite as easy to drive as a MINI, but much more rewarding.

I have been looking at a 2014 Cayman S to replace my 16 Countryman, since the car is for enjoyment only I think the Cayman would be a good buy. Not a tarted up hatch with some suspect plastic wings on the side. Sorry folks just my opinion on the MINI. Give it a year, you will be able to buy this MINI cheap.

Step right up and get them while they are hot! For the insanely low price of
“ $44,900 plus an additional $850 Destination & Handling fee.”
But wait there’s more! If you are one of the lucky first 3000 people to call in before this commercial is up you can have two for the price of two! Yes folks that’s right! Two for twice the price. We have marked them down from 45750 (just for the lucky first 3000) it’s only $44900*

*plus $850 Destination & Handling fee

You will be happy with the Cayman. On track they rotate in the corners better than my 911.

Track days are big fun. Just because someone has a faster car than you does not mean they will be faster on the track. Have fun Lee & remember the goal of a track day is to have big fun. If you can drive your car home at the end with no damage you are the winner. :Stig:

True! I cant wait. I plan on having as much fun as is legal. It's close to time for new tires so I don't care if I wear these out. A friend is in the Porsche club and also club races he has every thing to set up a car including scales. He will be helping me get the Helmet ready.
