As of tonight the LRW is no longer mine :'( :'( I'm sad to see it go since it is my first MINI and the car we brought Anna home in but the Countryguy is needed for our outdoorsy/ large dogs lifestyle. On to MINI number 4!!!

Congrats on the new Countryman, guys!! Can't wait to see it.

Nothing better than 8 (near)solid hours of motoring! Too bad it was on the interstate... In the rain&fog...
All in all, a good trip! Saw some frozen landscapes up north and thought we were in trouble, but roadways stayed wet (not frozen) there and back!
Now the bad news: the Countrygal has a very nice burble that the BRG Justa is VERY envious of! -
^ I should point out that I highly recommend the Bluetooth setup for minis. With my Bluetooth headset and the new Bluetooth mini setup, we were able to have hands free motoring conversations and make the 4 hours home pass very quickly... And warn each other of 'lesser motors' who weren't paying attention while in the rain/fog

What are everyone's thoughts on how soon to do an oil change on the countryman? I know mini claims its ok for a llllooonnnggg time, but with a trip in march to GA and then the Dragon, I'm thinking there should be one prior to what the magic computer tells us...

I always did a 3K mile oil change on new cars just to be safe and look to make sure there isn't a lot of junk in there. The BMW recomendations are crazy for that initial oil change.
My other recomendation is "LOOK A THING YOUR WIFE IS INTERESTED IN!!!!!" then swap wheels -

Darn are they 5X100? If so I could distract her and throw some steelies on there for you
I have been considering more stylish winter wheels.

Remember oil & filters are cheap. Engines are not.
