First thing I've done when buying any pre-owned vehicle is change the oil & of course filter. Check all fluid levels, then check them again after driving for 100 miles. Have the alignment checked, along with all belts, hoses, the battery & charging system and coolant range. Also, check with MINI or a dealer with the VIN to see if there are any open recalls.
And make sure to drive it often and with gusto!
