Blimey is right about the drone. I've had cars in the past that drone on the highway it's unbearable. I've had loud cars and I've driven behind Nathan.:eek6:

Value your hearing. Take it from someone that didn't. "What did you say"

The OEM header / cat are the primary bottlenecks on these cars. Changing the exhaust without a high-flow header and cat will add virtually no power.

HOWEVER... if you add a really free flowing header (e.g. RMW) then the OEM exhaust becomes the bottleneck. Any of the 2.5" exhausts will flow better than stock. Miltek is a very good choice. And my butt dyno indicated a noticeable difference between my old JCW exhaust and the Miltek, with all else being equal (I already had the RMW header).

Of course, there are other bottlenecks that are limiting flow more than the exhaust... head, cam....

Hahaha. Alright alright everyone. Drone is terrible. I gotcha. :p

And yes Dick, I'm excited for the all-nighter. Haha. I started ordering parts already, and I'm in talks with Jan about his crank damper. Also, I'm going to 15% while we're at it.
So I'm dropping in a new tensioner, belt, idler pulley, crank damper, and 15% reduction pulley all at once. It's gonna be a loooong night.

He's got a few more maintenance things to upgrade first, but overall it's in good shape. [emoji3]

Oh yes. Just thinking about the extensive list I have scares me. It does end eventually, but it is nice and long. Haha.

Also, I decided on a new look for my car. Same stance in mind, but different colors. Might look pretty, might look pretty bad. Haha. We'll wait and see.

And there doesn't appear to be any serious damage, but it's really hard to tell.

So now I can't find the correct bolts to put my SC pulley back in place. I think it's 4 10-32 steel bolts, but I'm not sure (The bolts were nowhere near the scene of the boo-boo). I'm in communication with Waylen to try and figure it out though.

I don't have a fastenal near me, but there's an ACE hardware only 30 min away.
And Waylen said it IS 10-32 SS SHCS.

Sorry to see you sold the Mini. I felt bad selling the Subaru and then the Suzuki but the Mini is way better than the 2 previous rally cars.....my love is growing for the Mini....as is the problems.

Congrats on a great car with low miles! LSD is a big win.

Sounds like you have a plan, and that you're looking for wider stance. Just be aware that on these cars, wide spacing can lead to poorer handling. Messes with the steering geometry. Perhaps you're fine with that trade-off. And you won't know until you try it. But if you change tires and spacing at the same time, and it handles poorly, don't blame the tires. If those are Conti DW, they're pretty good tires. I've run several sets HARD.

Enjoy your modding journey. You're about where I was, 7 years ago.

See my post on RMW, you need longer lugs if you try and use those spacers.

If you wants to cut and paste my reply on RMW to here that's fine also.

Great car and a great color! I'm kinda partial to your choice in names too. Enjoy the car and welcome to M/A.

You have a nice ride! Much better than what I had when I was in college. Before you start modding the suspension further, think about putting in some Powerflex lower control arm bushings. With an '06 at 60K, the stock rubber bushings are probably in their death throes. If they're dead or dying, you'll be astounded at the difference it'll make. If you do your own work, it ain't that hard. I've got a thread on how I did it.
