I live on a dirt road, on a dry day no matter how slow I creep down that road in 1st I seem a plum of dust in my rear view mirror, and if there is a slight breeze forget about it. :nonod:
If you go to MOTD next year, stop by and look at the one on my R53. it doesn't do as good a job as does the one on my R50, but that's because Joel put on those velocitors right under the wing and I think that allows the dust to settle in more. Still, it's a lot better than the stock OEM.
Joel tried to explain it to me, but, as usual, it went in one ear and out the other. All I know is that it is affixed to the underside of the wing extension and looks kinda like an upside down comb [with the "teeth" pointing downwards]. It's supposed to help channel the air...I think.
Wow sure wouldn't want one of those hanging off my wing. Looks heavy & might be a real drag on my aerodynamicles.
They are vortex generators placed under the body of the wing. I don't know all the science behind it, I sorta understand what they do but not well enough to write about it. MINI now uses a modified one on the C pillar. Mistubishi had them on the Lancer EVO
Usain Bolt had canards and velocitors installed on his scrotum. The improved aerodynamics changed him from a pedestrian sprinter to the world's all-time fastest human being.
Holy Crap. That dude's a frigg'n mess! He ought'a be careful where he falls asleep. Some varmint might latch on and try ta get some milk out'a his forehead.
I'd like to see his pic in 30 years!!!! He'll look like he is 150 years old with his face falling off, ears hanging down like dreadlocks..
By that time he will be able to tie his earlobes above his head...kind of in a weird way of giving oneself a facelift. By the way, I'm also wondering if those metal forehead spikes are properly grounded to safeguard against lightning strikes....
