Thanks for taking the time to update us.....Congrats on your new addition to the family. Those little guys are game changers for sure.....keep on modding!!.......:cornut:
Thank you everyone! It is good to be back. I will let you all know when my ddmworks parts show up. I also had something else I was working on but was waiting to reveal until I was finished. I have been building a two part rear diffuser for the r53. It looks great so far. I started with cardboard and designed the visible portion which is going to be made up of fiberglass and carbon fiber. The other piece which will connect from the end of the fuel tanks to the cf piece is aluminum sheeting. Here are the pictures, I will be buying and installing the m7 rear wing and this front lip I found on out motoring. Both of those will also be carbon fiber. Not sure if anyone saw or not but Orranje came out with new r53 vented fenders so I will no longer have to make those.
New goodies!! Next is new oil filter housing, oil cooler and new belt tensioner along with tensioner stop and bushing kit!
Another update! I got the gates tensioner from oriellys and swapped in polyurethane bushings on the strut. I also replaced the belt while I was at it. I am starting to get sick of doing that without the damn belt tool lol. It is such a pain in the butt. I also replaced the heat exchanger/oil cooler and kept the filter housing but pulled it to change the gasket in there too. Last week I removed the supercharger to change my water pump and replaced all the gaskets in the process. Also found my pto gear side was dry so filled it up with ac Delco and changed my front oil as well. Got her all reassembled and then spent 5 hours Friday night installing my ns1 cam, new cam bolt and chain tensioner. Everything was oem that I put in. She sure is running great now!!!
And sadly yesterday my fiancé rolled her volvo. The cars alignment wasn't to good and she over corrected on the highway at around 55 mph went off into the ditch and hit a drive way retainer wall and flipped a couple times. Miraculously she only has a couple cuts on her head fingers and feet from all the broken glass. No broken bones or internal injuries. Just shook up really bad. When she is ready to drive again I will be in the market for a new mini for her. I think I'll get a larger club man. Our son was not with her at the time thank god. He was at home with me.
I believe I would stick with a Volvo for the Mom and Kid. They've already proved they can protect you in an accident. Glad your son wasn't in the car at the time. Your Mini looks great!
I guess you haven't had a Volvo, I have a '98 Volvo V70 T5, it has larger sway bars and Bilstein shocks, but is otherwise stock. It is plenty fun to drive. Dave
