    Welcome to Motoring Alliance the onlyest MINI forum you'll ever need !! Glad you're enjoying your first generation S...but MSD coils are not thought of highly by a number of the very experienced members here. The stock coil is said to be capable of working well into 300's hp. A lot of the knowledgeable folks are at the Dragon right now but hopefully some will be on later to comment on this.

    Welcome. As previously stated, the consensus here is to use OEM ignition parts. And, this site is home to the gurus of the R53.

    Welcome. Do some lurking and searches, and choose your "upgrades" wisely. Some things available don't make your MINI and better, and some make them worse than stock. If you spend some time on this forum, you can find the stuff that has been thoroughly tried and tested.
