Hard to do a compression test if it won't turn over....
Put it in 4th, release the park brake and see if you can turn it over by rolling the car back and forth - if not -it's not the battery, you have a broken something in the engine. If it does roll over then you can go ahead and test the battery and so forth.

But I agree, if you want to find a misfire, first thing I do is run a compression test. I had a friend chase a #3 cylinder misfire for three years, chaning fuel pumps, filters, 3 different coils, wires, plugs and on and on......finally he borrowed my compression tester (I had asked him for three years to run the test) and sure enough - 50lbs of compression on cyl 3, turned out to be a burned exhaust valve.
I'm concerned that the OP dropped a valve and locked the engine, or his timing chain let go.....-

Thank you for the reply. I have already started to entertain that idea. What truly puzzles me why it will not even turn over now! I was going to change out the injector today (rain says otherwise) to rule that out. The no turning over really has me in a brain cramp!

I don’t think the battery is all of your problem but it could be part of it so I would start with having it tested. Next knowing what codes it is throughing will really help. I am sure one is misfire on cylinder 3. How hot did it get? You may have blown the head gasket if you drove it to long when it had overheated. I would do a compression test also.

I know back when I turned a wrench, a very long time ago, overheating a aluminum head motor could mean a new head gasket or even planing the head. We would always re torque the head to be on the safe side. These newer cars seem to do better. Or maybe it’s because their not Fiats

Welcome to the site. I'm not a mechanic and I don't even play one on the internet, but good luck in finding your problem. I'm here for moral support
