Pledge works well on the very front of the car ( grille, fascia, etc. ) to keep the bugs from sticking. Rain-X on the windshield/windows help also.

PAM
motorcycle riders have used PAM - aerosol non stick frying pan cooking lube-for decades for this. works great, rinses off easy -

Great ideas. Pledge will help the car smell lemony fresh and PAM will help if its really hot out and anybody has an urge to fry an egg

There's also a Saran wrap like product out there, you just stretch it over the front of the car, cut out the holes for the radiator and when you get where you're going, sinply peel it off and throw it away - I don't think it's appropriate for a windshield like a race car tear-off tho.
It's called Road wrap, here's the link... Protective Film : New Car Paint Protection : Paint Protector : Automobile Paint Protection : BuyRoadWrap.com -

I've also seen people use the Saran press-n-seal wrap before long highway trips... looks awful, works good, cheap.

Clear plastidip spray would also work well.

What the heck is going on. Saran wrap, spray PAM....... We got a bunch of cooks on this forum?:ihih:
Ah...... anybody try that cheeze in a pressurized can (cheeze whiz)?:lol::lol:
I liked the plasti-dip suggestion -

Maybe I could use the PAM and Pledge to keep the stuff off, but anything that does stick I could wrap in Saran to ensure freshness until there a chance to wash the car

The best way to keep bugs from sticking to a BMW is to rent a Malibu. Cars get dirty. It's what they do.

DO NOT USE PASTICISPRAY on your paint... it will f' it up.
Go withthe blue tape method... I've done it for years...
Or if u have some time, just go buy some vynel and do it your self..
I need my hood myself

Any one thought of trying aluminum foil? Or is that for hats only?

Somewhere out there on the interweb is a spray-on product, just can't remember who makes it. You just spray it on, and it washes off with soap and water. I think it may be a DuPont product.
Unlike Pam, this is an automotive, rather than a culinary product:lol:.

One advantage of carrying PAM is that if you're stuck at the side of the road and you're getting hungry, you can spray it on the engine and cook yourself an egg :cornut: -
