Probably... he was DEFINITELY in the wrong lane. MY lane. I had to go all Dukes of Hazzard at 75mph, full evasive into the breakdown lane, on I-385 in rush hour traffic.... I'm confident some onlookers crapped their pants. No marks on the MINI and no blown tires, but it was the ugliest and closest situation I've ever seen with no contact. Whew.
I now return you to the shaming already in progress.

Reminds of the time, about 20 years ago, I'm going down I-74, minding my own business, in the right hand land lane. In broad daylight (fortunately), coming directly toward me ON MY SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, in the left lane (even more fortunately), was a big old Crown Victoria-ish type of vehicle, with a driver who appeared to be roughly 95, driving about 45. I honked and honked, and he smiled, perhaps the most senile smile I've ever seen, and waved as we passed going in opposite directions, as if to say a kindly "hello."
Not having a cell phone on me, I pulled off at the next exit and called the police from a gas station--the only time I've ever done that. I didn't hear of any head on collisions that day, so it appears all ended well. Except that I never got the smell out of my car, or the stain out of my pants. -

I can't think of any better excuse to trade in a MINI then that picture!

 I think that happened a couple of years back w/ a guy from FL, the "Pass Ass" guy, caught passing on the Dragon, there were even T-Shirts for that one, if I remember correctly he first quit the local Mini club & soon after just sold the car.

I have spoken with driver and the owner of the car in the photo. While neither is not on Facebook, he is very sorry for his actions and apologized for the embarrassment caused, along with the shame of crossing the line. He iterated that it will not happen again. He understands the seriousness of the inaction, and asks for forgiveness, which is all anyone in his position can do at this point. I'm not sure this will satisfy all of you, but certainly is all you can ask. His post to me. "As the car owner I want to say we very much regret what happened and promise it will not happen again. We know how important it is to the reputation of the club and everyone's safety. Again, we are sorry and it will not happen again. Thank you for taking us to task for it."
I will also further in saying that we as Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club do not condone, tolerate, or teach any such actions, and in fact discipline and request that no one ever act in this manner. Any of our club members seeing such action usually call it out on the radio while running or after the run ends.
While this happened on MSSD weekend, this photo taken of this car occurred while the car was NOT running with our group. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for this kind of driving anytime anywhere and our members are requested to maintain the same whether driving with our group, or alone. -

That's all well and good by why can he not post for himself on any of the MINI forums?
