I'm so tired, I looked at it and didn't even get. Thought "he's not even *close* to the centerline.... Looks good to me..."

Then about the third time I scrolled back up and looked at it... I felt like an idiot...

Of course, I did almost get squished by a semi an hour ago... So things are still a little fuzzy.

Whoever knows the ash hat please give him a talking to. We don't need him representing our community.

Did that truck have an NHRA sticker on it by any chance?

Probably... he was DEFINITELY in the wrong lane. MY lane. I had to go all Dukes of Hazzard at 75mph, full evasive into the breakdown lane, on I-385 in rush hour traffic.... I'm confident some onlookers crapped their pants. No marks on the MINI and no blown tires, but it was the ugliest and closest situation I've ever seen with no contact. Whew.

I now return you to the shaming already in progress.

Reminds of the time, about 20 years ago, I'm going down I-74, minding my own business, in the right hand land lane. In broad daylight (fortunately), coming directly toward me ON MY SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, in the left lane (even more fortunately), was a big old Crown Victoria-ish type of vehicle, with a driver who appeared to be roughly 95, driving about 45. I honked and honked, and he smiled, perhaps the most senile smile I've ever seen, and waved as we passed going in opposite directions, as if to say a kindly "hello."

Not having a cell phone on me, I pulled off at the next exit and called the police from a gas station--the only time I've ever done that. I didn't hear of any head on collisions that day, so it appears all ended well. Except that I never got the smell out of my car, or the stain out of my pants.

The fact that his "apology" makes fun of his hotdogging by blaming it on his missing Viagra shows the sad reality of it: unfortunately, we DO have some idiots in our community who think their stupidity is funny. He could have killed someone [besides himself], but chooses to laugh it all off? Hell, even Goofy isn't THAT goofy....:frown2:

Wasn't an aplolgy from the driver. Was a joke from the poster.. As far as I know the driver has not posted on any of the MINI forums where this is posted.( which is virtually every MINI forum ) As he never has before so probably hasn't seen any of this. Granted he might have on FB, I don't go there so no way for me to know... He has been emailed about this though...

 I think that happened a couple of years back w/ a guy from FL, the "Pass Ass" guy, caught passing on the Dragon, there were even T-Shirts for that one, if I remember correctly he first quit the local Mini club & soon after just sold the car.

It was a joke, sorry. If you see any of my posts, you can pretty much take it for granted that it's totally useless, unreliable information and ignore it. Most people do.:biggrin5:

    +1 to that.

During a quick, passing visit to the Sewing Site I noticed this photo was making the rounds in a thread over there too. The difference was the smattering of posters with their 8th Grade diplomas in hand actually defending this guy. :frown2:

It makes me appreciate M/A even more as a refuge for sane, intelligent, insightful, and witty banter.

Doesn't matter he is still on the wrong side. Some people just don't get it.

Why would they defend that? I've been on the dragon, granted I was considerably younger and on the back of a Gold Wing with a video camera. but damn that can be a dangerous road.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an apology.

While I do not know this person I'd say that this is the way this person drives all the time. It's not like he made an error on car placement. He meant to cut the corners.

    Back on topic...

    Driving loaded on Viagra.
