I have spoken with driver and the owner of the car in the photo. While neither is not on Facebook, he is very sorry for his actions and apologized for the embarrassment caused, along with the shame of crossing the line. He iterated that it will not happen again. He understands the seriousness of the inaction, and asks for forgiveness, which is all anyone in his position can do at this point. I'm not sure this will satisfy all of you, but certainly is all you can ask. His post to me. "As the car owner I want to say we very much regret what happened and promise it will not happen again. We know how important it is to the reputation of the club and everyone's safety. Again, we are sorry and it will not happen again. Thank you for taking us to task for it." I will also further in saying that we as Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club do not condone, tolerate, or teach any such actions, and in fact discipline and request that no one ever act in this manner. Any of our club members seeing such action usually call it out on the radio while running or after the run ends. While this happened on MSSD weekend, this photo taken of this car occurred while the car was NOT running with our group. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for this kind of driving anytime anywhere and our members are requested to maintain the same whether driving with our group, or alone.
Some people do not want to use forums or facetweetagramtrist. Nothing wrong with that. Just like there are some people that don't want to watch TV.
Honestly, Because he does not savvy to forums like you are.... Please accept this as directly from him. I literally just got off the phone with him and he is very distraught about the whole thing I assure you. He did apologize on our forum if that makes you anymore understanding and this is what I posted above in quotation marks. You guys can continue to bash away if you like. Thats your world. I have spent a lot of time and effort to best discipline this in the most beneficial way for all. I can only hope that is enough. Haters are gonna hate. God believes in Forgiveness last I checked.
I do forgive your friend. Glad he gets it, that is great. Thank you for the heads up. I'm hoping to see a dozen forgive me donuts on my doorstep tomorrow morning.:donut1:
Your friend needs to join M/A if he has a computer. We are not heartless here, but, as you can see, we can get VERY concerned about poor driving. M/A is a great bunch of MINI owners. Many of us are track tested, as well as veteran Dragon Slayers, so, it really hurt to see him on the "other side" when we preach about not crossing the lines there ALL the time. However, while to err IS human, to forgive, in this case, is MINI. Tell him to be safe...but to join us...soon!
