I'm confused with your question. You shouldn't need to do any modification to the stock mounting points to install Koni Yellows. Did you get the correct Koni's for your model year?
Also, can you post a picture of the part you want to enlarge? By chance, is it the metal spacer sleeve that accepts the shaft with the lock nut at the top of the damper shaft? -

I think its 12mm that you need to bump it out to. Been so long since ive done it though...
And yes, i imagine its the metal spacer sleeve and top washer he is talking about.
