not sure if I will make it, I am doing a Mod to my mini tomorrow. I will need time to test it before I head to watkins Glen so I am up in the air. if you see me then I will say hi, if not then have a great time. I just got back from put-N-Bay so I need to take car of some things
I can't. I'm covering bc someone got fired. And I really need to get the new wheel speed sensor in bc I have no abs or dsc and no idea what speed I'm going. We are also doing the wheel bearing which should've been done a while ago. I'm really trying to get her back into tip top shape so I'm compiling a list of things to get and get done if I get this new job so perhaps everyone can send me ideas. Hahaha I feel like its been so long since I've seen anyone. Kinda miss y'all.
We had a good time with everyone today! Despite Chuck and Babs hanging back with Tom, while Dave lost a belt, Chris driving off to get a truck to rescue him with, Steve sticking with Dave, and me having to cut the run short due to motion sickness issues.... Nick, you picked a good route that I look forward to driving again some day, perhaps with more Dramamine at hand for my lovely co-pilot, Erin Hope you got out from behind that traffic we saw you stuck with quickly!
Despite freaking out 'cause my car is on the side of the road dead in the middle of nowhere and I've not a clue as to what's wrong, this couldn't have happened with a greater bunch of folks. I could not be more moved/touched by the help I got today. Thanks Chris (and fiance) for the lift and knowing where to take the car, and having an extra belt, and your time. Thanks Steve and wife for keeping company while waiting for the trailer. There's nothing worse than being stuck, and nothing nicer than getting the help you need. Enjoyed everyones company and had a great time despite it all.
Well the route proved to be great accept for the end. I'll adjust it before the second try. At least we started and most of us ended together. Hope Erin feels better. The road didn't get any less twisty. This is why I love this group car people helping car people. Thanks for trying everyone.
Nick thanks for laying out a wonderful drive. Your idea of 2 loops was a very good one. I even saw some roads that were new to me.:biggrin5: Sorry we had a MINI break, but under the circumstances it turned out very well thanks to some very helpful folks. What I learned from this, new belt every 30,000 miles & if it breaks be with good people. You guys who missed the drive should be there if Nick does a version 2 of this one. Big fun.... :yesnod: Did someone say pictures??? More here >>> 09-02-2013 Nick & Walter's Excellent Adventure - crashton's Photos
