Could they not just replace the pan?

Well, since they've hamstrung the Corvette Team so effectively I think I'll find something else to do this weekend. I spend enough time beaching at the news during the week, I don't need to spend the weekend yelling at the TV. BoP my ***! :mad5:

I think everyone in GT other than Ganassi (Ford) were hoping for a lot of good running during the 2 qualifying sessions today so the ACO would decide there was plenty of consistent data to justify readjusting the GT BoP. But both sessions today were essentially washed out by rain. Regardless, I'll be watching tomorrow for any word.

Their Honda engine is a mostly stock motor from the Odyssey mini van. The HRPD guys and MSR guys added the turbos, retuned engine management system, bigger injectors, and a forged crank after the stock one failed in the first race. Not too bad for our local guys. -
BoP has been adjusted again.
Added weight and cut some boost pressure on the Fords.
Added weight and increased fuel capacity of Ferrari by 4 liters
Open air restrictor on Aston Martin and Corvette
Added 8 liters more fuel capacity to the Porsches
Added 7 liters more fuel capacity to the Corvettes

Every little bit helps. Until I read the article I didn't know that Ford hasn't and won't reach the homologation requirements of selling 200 units. They had to get a waiver. Seems to me that would make it more of a prototype than a production car. The least Corvettes built in a year was 300 back in 1953. They average ~35K units a year now. Maybe they need a GT-Unlimited class where the rule is run what you brung. I'm sure GM would love to put the supercharged aluminum block LT4 from the Z06 in a couple of their cars. It's a production engine after all, and you can bet they've sold more than 200 of them. I'm not claiming this as an unbiased opinion, so, YMMV.

FWIW, I haven't been able to find much of anything free this year other than Radio Le Mans and the timing and scoring direct from the FIA.
Can't even find live feeds from the Vettes this year and, though my memory is nothing close to perfect, I feel like that's unusual. In fact, the Corvette folks' site has a link for video that takes you straight to the FIA WEC's sign in page where you can register but have to pay for it.
Even Audi's page says "Due to technical problems we don’t receive the onboard signals from the organizer. We are working on a solution. Sorry for any inconveniences."
Looks like the organizers have locked things down fairly well, making sure we need to pay to watch this year.
Porsche offer some onboards but they're choppy. -

For those few interested in such things, Radio Le Mans is available a few ways other than directly through their website. Apparently they're on Sirius/XM, though I don't know what station. I get it on my phone through the TuneIn Radio app.

Canceled my Sirius/XM sat radio Wednesday. What timing this old fart has.

If I remember correctly, Corvette have won their class at Le Mans more than twice as often as they've won pole. That says a lot about their ability to run an endurance race, obviously, but their low pole number to win ratio might also say a lot about the "balance" in BoP...

I've been able to watch via the Fox Sports Go App using the Amazon Firestick signed in under my brothers Direct TV account.
What a pain in the ass.
The amount of commercials is ridiculous. As hard as they make this to watch they should realize that it's only diehards that watch. We don't need to see the same commercials again and again and again and again.
Good Race tho. It's on in the background whilst I concoct jams. -
I can't help but wonder if Audi will even be allowed to win since Porsche is back at Lemans, given the controlling interest Porsche SE (Porsche and Piech families holding company) holds in VW. Hmmmmmm.
