Who here is watching Le Mans this weekend? Interesting line up especially with some of the F1 drivers. Here is a link to the spotters guide: https://jalopnik.com/tell-all-of-this-years-le-mans-cars-apart-with-this-use-1826725538
Yeah, I won’t be watching as I have a full detail booked for a black F150 quad cab. That’s going to take a full day and some of the night.
At least this year it’s a continuous broadcast on the Velocity channel. I’ve got nothing else to do Saturday anyway.
No tv in the garage, that’s man land. Cleaning and working on cars gets done in the garage. If I had a TV I may as well add a fridge and a urinal then I could live in the garage.
Lemans caught me off guard this year. I've been so busy, I haven't even thought about it. I don't have cable or satellite, so I'll have to go through my annual ritual of finding somewhat decent coverage online. CD
Did y'all see that Lemans coverage (except in car) is only available via Velocity channel - start to finish? Not even available on the WEC app or motortrend app. While its nice to have TV coverage, I did like the flexibility of the WEC app... still researching this one.
It has gotten to where the only way I can watch things I want to watch, I have to pay a cable or satellite company big bucks for 350 channels full of crap I don't want. We should be able to go to The Velocity Channel, and buy via pay-per-view the coverage of Lemans. Not in the USA, the land of the not so "free market." It's what you get when big business owns your government. Consumers in most industrialized countries pay less than we pay, and get more than we get from the internet. If I could get full coverage of Lemans for fifty-bucks, I'd gladly pay it. Instead, I have to pay 80-plus-bucks a month for cable or satellite, on a two-year contract to watch Lemans -- with commercials interrupting every five minutes. Rant Off! CD
The Velocity channel is available in the Elite tier of PS Vue. It works through Roku or a PlayStation.
Agreed - I paid for the WEC season before and would get it, not this year. I think you can do the motor trend app (4.99) and get. Or call a friend that has direct TV, get their user name and pass... then stream on the app... I’m watching it now via one of those meathods..
I'm watching too - on Velocity - I noticed these color commentators can't shut up either.....what is with the diarrhea of the mouth on all these announcers these days? Man, you get a flat on this course it can be a LONG drive back to the pits!
I just dropped from 200 channels on Dish to 120 channels. Guess I’d better check and make sure I still have the channel. Edit: My DVR took a crap yesterday. All I can watch now is prerecorded content. How’d the Corvettes do?
Not so well: https://www.crash.net/le-mans/results/899020/1/2018-24-hours-le-mans-race-results LMP1 must've been a snoozer – no competition for Toyota, but gives Alonso a chance for Triple Crown.
Sorry man, but they got their arses handed to them by six-cylindar cars -- Porsche, Porsche, Ford, Ford, Corvette. Not a good year for brute force over high-tech. CD
Yep. The BOP rules keep changing until compared to just a few years ago the Vettes intake has been reduced so much they might as well be sucking air through a soda straw.
