Absolutely legalize it for all the same reasons alcohol is legal.

Heck, I could buy pot long before I could Beer.....

Someone high is no worse off then someone drunk.... If they do legalize it the "MAN" will want his cut of course. So like others have said, age limit, amount you can purchase, test for being under the influence, etc. and buy it from an ABC type store..

Being under the influence of anything has no place on the road, or workplace.

I will venture holes in the brain were there to start with. And dehydration can be fixed with some water. Of course if you're too dumb not to drink, well then....

True enough, but I'd rather be in a car with someone stoned on pot than a drunk, you don't get hurt much at 5 mph, and it's not unusual to stop a block early for a street light.....:D

But this is the "GOODSTUFF" for Human consumption and great for the kitties. (to be clear it is for **catnip tea). And as such is not the stale weak pet store variety.

After drinking sufficient quantities of catnip tea, a person is very easy to roll.

Seems like most people here are for legalizing Mary Jane. I have no interest in using it, but think that it should be legalized for practical reasons.

    1. Balance the budget in California.
    2. Reduce crime.
    3. Reduce the trade deficit.

If the logic behind those three items is not clear to anyone, I'd be happy to elucidate.

    The only problem is this:

How are you going to employ the people who now investigate, enforce, prosecute, defend, preside over trials and jail the marijuana offenders?

There is money flowing on both sides of the issue. And while I think it should be legalized, the real world thinking would say it is not that easy. At least in California, the Prison Guards is on of the two biggest unions. I don't see a scenario where a politician will vote yay on anything that will anger a union with that much power.

Plus, since building, maintaining, staffing jails can be a boon for local economies it becomes in public interests to keep those jails properly populated.
