Reminds me of a joke. Two guys are talking. First one says: "I had a dream last night. I returned from a war a conquering hero. And the town people threw me a ticker tape parade. I was riding on a beautiful white stallion up and down the main boulevard with all the people cheering my success. It was magnificent!" The second guys says: "Oh yeah? I also had a dream. In my dream I was sitting at home watching TV and all of a sudden a beautiful blond comes out of another room wearing a sexy negligee and comes over to me and sits in my lap. Then just as I am about to kiss her, a beautiful brunette comes out, also in negligee and sits on my other lap. And just as I am about to get busy a beautiful redhead comes out of the bedroom, except she has no room to sit on my lap:. So the first guys says: "Why didn't you call me?" To this the second guy replies: "I tried. I looked out the window and you were riding up and down the block like a moron on a white horse."
I will take that bet. Given a choice a politician will do what ever it takes to get re-elected first. And as legalizing pot (at least in California) will put him in direct conflict with Prison Guard, Teacher's and Police Unions (the big three) I doubt there will be too many of them lining up on the pro side. Any movement to legalize must come via a ballot initiative. Oh so wrong on so many levels. Yes, they are hanging them out to dry. By mostly raiding their treasuries, or not remitting their share of tax collections. Which came out of local economies. As for prisons overflowing. Are you not listening? Legalize pot = less offenders = less prisoners. Cause and effect. It is not that complicated. ut:
Not exactly true anymore....... Like the other states that once ok'd the private use...the FEDS overruled them about 3 years ago. While local counties have guidelines for position, growing etc and such the feds can come in and overturn anything! At one time the best county was SC which allowed up to 99 plants and a maximum growing area of 10x10 with 7lbs of finished personal produce in your house. California during that transition had more card carrying (county and state approved users) "clubs" closed down because of watchful eyes and busts by feds that bankrupt legal fund fighting the overturn regulations. The big offenders most likely end up in a Federal Prison camp like Lompoc. Like the brother that brought in some 30(?) tons on a freighter and got 3(?) years. The bottom line is unless Obama see that it can help excel him into another turn its not going to happen in the next 8 years!
Do you mean as in: "I was standing on the corner minding my own business and the cops searched me and I had a dime bag in my pocket."? Probably not. But I've already referenced the statistics (go back a few posts) on what percentage of prison population are marijuana related offenses.
Hmmmm.... wonder what would happen to gloabal productivity if things like coffee, tea, 5 hour energy and RedBull were banned from the workplace.... Matt
Reminds me of an old Russian joke: Inspector at a factory is talking to a machinist: Inspector: Could you work if you had a shot of vodka? Worker: Maybe Inspector: how about two shots? Worker: Possibly Inspector: how about three shots? Worker: I could try Inspector: how about four shot Worker: I am working, aren't I?
Q. What is the difference between a drunk and a stoner ? A. The drunk will drive through a stop sign while the stoner will wait for it to turn green. Mark
...and then the Blonde texting runs into the back of the stoner waiting for the stop sign to turn green and knocks him in front of the drunk who thought the four way stop sign was green, causing a massive wreck.... Next day the paper reads: "Alcohol and drugs cause another pile up today........."
I see no reason why we should starting letting context impact our debates on this fine forum. If they had told me that was a requirement, I wouldn't have signed up.
I find it hard to keep a train of thought on this thread, I'm always hungry while reading it, but since it started I have no lint in my belly button. Mark
im for the legalization of pot...but like someone said earlier it has no business being in the workplace....especially the military...ive never smoked the stuff nor do i have any intention to...i see no use in it personally but to each their own
