So I just talked to my Mom, they canceled school in Steamboat today 3rd time ever - it was 48 below. They have a 40/40 rule. 40" of snow or 40 below and they consider closing school. :shocked:
They closed school once when I was there, a building blew up downtown and they had to shut down the gas lines and couldn't heat the school. :arf:

 

They close school here at the hint of snow, ice or cold. Folks in this town are sissy's when it comes to winter weather.

Still Iced in here, went to try and go out, made it just up the street and the ice is so bad on the street I just slid back in front of the house and somehow got back up the drive into the garage.

 

I just got back from Chicago ...that city has some serious snow and the equipment to deal with it

And yup, I probably could have scraped something up out of the old pot. I'm only 10 minutes away from the airport though, so it wouldn't have been a big selection. But you know what?? It amazing what can be made with ramen noodles.

Oh great... Now we have 6 inches of snow on top of the leftover ice! No world... This really isn't normal!

The pipe is a post to hold the fence up. The HOA in their infinite wisdom replaced all the wood posts with those much better looking metal pipes when they redid our fences a few years back.

 

Was in Dallas less than a hour, got out just in time. 100+mph tailwind made a fast flight to STL last night.

After driving to work in -13* temps yesterday, today is balmy by comparison, at almost 20*.....and it's supposed to snow Sunday. :frown2:
