40k for OEM

 

Saw this, and although it's off topic somewhat, I went back and counted rotors..

My car has 19,000 miles on it. I'm on rotor set #7, lost count of pads.

Virtually none of this abuse occurred on the street though.

The dealer replaced my front pads under warranty at 18K on my '09 Clubby, I didn't think they were down that far but what the heck, free pads! They did have 2 track days on them tho....

On my '03 I was changing them about every 20-25K. But they also had some track days on them. I don't think I'm particularly hard on pads on the track tho, I'm not trying to be TTOTD.....

 

Well, I THINK I've got the setup that will allow a full year of abuse before needing new rotors, we'll see.

Does add up though.

 

I motored 100 miles a day on bald a$$ prairie, and for the most part used the brakes very lightly, for the first 3 years I had Poco. Moved to the hills of Missouri, and had to change them out, at 85,000.

I also got 7 years out of my OEM battery, and just did the front bushings at 108,000.

With a 40/60 Hwy/City mix of driving I'm looking at 30k miles for the fronts and 40k miles for the rears. No sign that I need to replace the rotors though...

 

I've got 33k on my car and I'm on my 3rd set.

 

I've got about 50,000 on my 05 S....
Still on my OEM rotors/pads on the front...
The odd thing is I'm on my second set on the REAR!!:confused5:
My car does sit quite a bit (in an airport parking lot)...and I think due to them not getting heated up, the salt/chemicals corroded the rotors on me...they stated to flake/crust around the edges...state inspection guy didn't like them....turned out the pads were about 90% worn....but my fronts were still at 60%:blush2: (two years ago).
I guess I need to use my brakes more...or stop planning so far in advance!! The new rotors I put on are Zimmerman's....seem to be doing very nice.
29-30.5 MPG doing highway driving at 72 MPG is not half bad on a tuned MINI....

 

I've got a little over 44K. No track time but some aggressive amusement down the occasional crooked road if you can imagine.

The majority of the beginning of my cars life was spent on highways. Im up to 46K on stock everything. They feel and look as though they have plenty left too lol (knock on wood..my luck ill get a change pads light on the way home)

Im also a coaster, and dont brake when I dont have to haha. Never downshift either

 

I've got 42,000 on mine, still the original jcw stuff, Dragon once, Blue Ridge a few, plus occasional auto-cross and lots of spritied driving. I will most likely do them up next spring with ss brake lines, new rotors and pads.

 

Sometimes the rears wear out first because of the emergency brake. After releasing it, the inside pad does not retract and gets more wear.
