Limited Edition Mini Monte-Carlo to be launched

InAutoNews.com is reporting that MINI is going to launch a limited edition MINI Monte Carlo in the European market. With the Frankfort Auto Show about to start this may be just the first in a salvo in a busy week.

The British automaker Mini, under its mother brand BMW, is about to launch a limited edition based on the Cooper S which will be known as the Monte-Carlo, a tribute to the rally car that â€œranâ€ in the â€˜60s.

As the pictures reveal, all the Cooper S Monte-Carlo Minis will be painted in red and white, just as the â€˜60s Mini Cooper which took part at the Monte Carlo Rally, and the car manufacturer says that only 200 units of the Limited Edition will be available on the European market.

We would like to talk about the interior modifications but there arenâ€™t many, except for the Monte-Carlo logo inserted into the sports seats and the steering wheel dressed in two colors: red and black. And letâ€™s not forget the special key which has the limited edition number on it.

There arenâ€™t any changes under the hood, where we can find the four-cylinder 184 horsepower Cooper S engine, mated to the six-speed manual transmission or the optional automatic. Mini says that for an extra power boost, customers can choose a John Cooper Works kit, which will push the engineâ€™s power up to 200 HP.

The Mini Monte-Carlo Limited Edition has been priced at 36.500 euros, and for that money you actually get a new paintjob and some logos. The only question is â€œWhy?â€
