I've been watching this treaty for years now. It is very bad! Japan started it because it wanted a seat at the security counsel. The UN has been working on this since back during Clinton.
The post did not say there was a vote on the treaty. It was a vote to support the Second Amendment.
It may say it is to control international sales but to do that they have to know where the small arms are and control them. It will affect your rights! No they are not going to collect them over night. It happens slowly. Ask the British citizens.
The UN sucks!!! Read their charter it stands in stark contrast to the US Constitution.
People are getting hacked up by machetes and they do nothing! But if they can gain power or line their wallets with money their happy.
I'm a US citizen the UN can kiss my American @$$.
Sorry I don’t mean to get spooled up but I do pay attention to what they do and they are a bunch of hypocrites. Just look at some of the countries that have chaired the human rights committee. What a joke.
One last thing. I’m sick of how the UN has put US solders in harms way. That alone is enough for me to despise them
I'm not pointing my anger at anyone here. And I don’t mean to offend. I dont have to agree with you to be a friend. But in this case this is a bad treaty.
I feel better now. And no I don’t have anger problems :mad2:

Both parties (Democratic and Republican) are at fault for everything in the past and currently going wrong with our beloved free country. I think every one from each party should be fired and replaced with Non-career power hungry politicians.
Our countries government should be run by the American party for Americians.
We should put a 100 ban on every Democratic and Republican politician and any lobbiest.-

Look here people. It's fine to have a difference of opinion. It's fine to debate facts.
NO Personal attacks will be tolerated at all in any way shape or form in this area. Even if it is in jest.
I'm not real comfortable at all about this thread, however I'm still very loopy from anesthesia yesterday and not thinking straight. With that in mind I'm not going to make any decisions today harder than how much 1/2 and 1/2 to put in my coffee. I ask you all to only debate facts as you see them.
This is an example of what is not tolerated. Jason, no reflection upon you, it was the first post that I see with something that is easy to cut and paste.
Thanks-

Nope. Norm is right! This stupid treaty would hurt our rights and hurt our firearms industry. China and Russia will keep exporting. This idea will do nothing to stop gun crime. It is only another power grab by the libs.
Scott you source has a known history of bending the facts to fit their narrative. No offense.-

And I suppose, snopes.com: Urban Legends Reference Pages turned this up too;
ISACS number 03.30,“National Controls Over the Access of Civilians to Small Arms and Light Weapons.” Among other things, 03.30 requires national registration of firearms and owners, prohibitions on civilian possession of certain weapons Americans can already legally and legitimately possess with additional licensing, and even has language advocating for national home inspections of private gun collections for “safety compliance.” This second standard was written by Dr. Ed Laurance, who is a former strategic planner for IANSA. IANSA stands for the International Action Network on Small Arms, which, according to page 3 of its foundation document, is committed to “reducing the availability of weapons to civilians in all societies.”
Lets not just cherry pick, see for yourself what applies, http://www.un.org/disarmament/ATT/docs/ATT_text_%28As_adopted_by_the_GA%29-E.pdf-
